Bob,

	Thanks for your lengthy and well written article. Things 
certainly are changing quickly.  Some 1.25 Megapixel cameras with optical
3X zooms seem to be under $500 now.  CCD Manufacturers are sampling
2-megapixel units for camera mfgrs to introduce early next year to
replace the current 1.5 megapixel units (and have the pricepoints
do another "downshift").

	Won't be long before we're screwing together pairs of 
digital cameras -- and with the ones that have the sensor/lens over
in the corner or side of unit, getting "proper" lens spacing might be
easy, even for moderate semi-macros.  :-)

P.S. - I agree about the current batch of printers.  My ALPS MD-1300
       printer can make very impressive seemingly photographic prints 
       when run in its 600 dpi dye-sub mode.
