P3D slide duplicators

Sometimes I see "slide duplicators" which will fit onto a 35MM
camera with a bellows attachment. Unlike the Honeywell Repronaor,
they look more as if you either aim a flash at the ground glass or
put them onto a light table (or hold them up to a window). Question:
how well do these work?
