P3D A stereographer to his mistress

I had another day studying early copies of the 
British Journal of Photography this week.
Inevitably ones eyes are drawn to all sorts
of pieces off the official search topic. One I
particularly enjoyed was a poem in the
Christmas edition of 1869. Titled "A photographer
to his mistress" it includes

"
Within the camera of my breast
Oh my excited heart
In love's collodion is imprest
Your charming counterpart

The lenses of my longing eyes
With achromatic ray
Focussed your image where it lies
Fixed ne'er to fade away

With brighter light than ever sun
Shone on the zone called tropic
Your form shines there you lovely one
'Tis life - 'tis stereoscopic
