With a little help from Greg Erker, I started shooting medium format a few
months ago. People say that medium format is the perfect stereo format,
and I totally agree. I've all but shelved my Kodak.

I started with two new Lubitels. Freestyle used to sell them new for $39,
but they have been discontinued. Maybe they still have stock? Pretty good
pictures, considering the camera is plastic. I was able to siamese them
into a single MF camera without much trouble.

Greg turned me on to the Ricohs. I have purchased three or four on eBay,
and have been able to get them in the $8-35 range, although I buy the ones
that need shutter repair, and fix them myself. Perfectly good Ricohs seem
to go for about $50. They are metal, so they're heavier, but sweet cameras.

In my tests the Ricoh lenses are much sharper than the Lubitels, but the
Lubitels slides are stunning compared to five-perf. I am in stereo heaven.

Cheers,

Tom
