Vertical alignment of the two cameras is achieved "by eye." that is, if the
cameras lenses appear on a line that is perpendicular to the bracket, you
are set.
Then you have the problem of the cameras themselves rotating on the
bracket. I check for proper alignment by opening the film back, and
looking at the image that is projected onto the film plane / film gate. I
tweak the rotation of one or the other camera... Once the top and bottom
edges of the film gates cut off identical parts of the image, you are set.
The trick is you have to have the cameras on the bracket tight enough, so
they don't shift easily - but just loose enough so that you can shift them
to make final adjustments to vertical alignment.
Good luck.
