As a long-time mail order merchant, I can certainly believe that, and more.
You really begin to worry about the literacy and logic of the world after a
while! When I was in grade school back in the 1950s, I remember getting
formal training in mail order etiquette--put your full name and address ON
YOUR ORDER, don't count on it's being retrieved from your envelope; make
sure you print or write legibly, etc. I suppose it's not considered
politically correct to give such practical, real-world advice in today's
schools.
