If the reds and greens in your photo are not pronounced, then this
so-called "color anaglyph" might be acceptable to some people. It also
depends on how much retinal rivalry your brain can handle. There are lots
of photos that do not lend themselves to this technique, IMHO.
Usually each eye sees the same amounts of red and green, so they balance
each other. If you don't go through a greyscale step, then the colors of
the original scene are the only source of red and green. Therefore, if the
scene has pronounced reds or greens, the left and right cannot be balanced.
