>Long live stereoscopic photography!
George Themelis (DrT for short :-))<
OK, George... I love stereoscopic photography, too. Really~ nothing beats
it.
But we have to face reality: photography is going to go digital, digital
means computers. With computers comes new nomenclature: "3D" has gotten a
lot of hype in the computer world because most computers now have the speed
to support it. Soon most computers will also be able to support motion/video
and STEREO 3D. I'm betting that computer-based stereo imaging will be the
next big wave... I don't even think we can call it photography, because much
of it will be artificially created or enhanced. With retinal displays coming
of age, there may not even be hard copy.
There will always be a group of die-hards who love the old-fashioned way of
doing things. No matter how deeply I get involved with "stereo3D imaging", I
will remember my roots... Hail to Wheatstone! Brewster! Gruber! Rochwite!
Themelis!
