P3D Words, Words, Words

Who says these lists are prone to incivility? Why, I can't get flamed
if I dowse myself in gasoline! First I offer an incorrect
self-correction:
> There is no such thing as cross-pollination. There is however
> cross-pollenization, if memory serves. See my last ponderous posting.
And nobody observes that I am a bonehead. I must be more likeable
than I try to be. Then I proceed to quiz TWO maillists on
non-equipment-related fluff. Time is up. Put down your pencils.
The answers are (in my own words):
Metastereoscopy - Reproduction of original scene in normal proportions
but in abnormal size. Like hyper or hypo shots but without
mentioning which one.
Panortho-stereoscopy - The nearly perfect stereogram which is as close
to "reality" as technically possible, and which utilizes non-stereo
depth cues to full advantage. People with disposable cameras and
artsy inclinations need not apply.
Parastereo - Looks "ortho", but really has telephoto type distortions.
You can't see it, but it exists. (!?!)
Stereo calisthenics - looking at stereograms that are designed to give
you eye muscles like a Greek god.
Infusible stereogram - the left view doesn't know what the right view
is doing.
Mexican stereoscope - Holmes stereoscope.
American stereoscope - Holmes stereoscope. Go figure.
Stereomatics - The art of telling a story with a series of stereograms.
Reely!
Stereoscopic balance - Relates to pictorial composition in the "Z"
dimension. "X" and "Y" are for beginners.
To which I gleefully added quasistereopsis, cryptostereogram,
cyberstereopictorial, and exo- and endo-diplopia.
Any guesses as to what I think those mean?
Bruce (Pushing My Luck, IR 8.5) Springsteen
