P3D ebay prices
Ebay crazy prices are no different than some local estate auctions I've
been to as far as crossover buying and auction fever. Just a bigger
group of buyers and sellers. Many antique dealers have stood in wonder
as an item went for double or triple the amount they had on the same
object in their booth or shop. Then again, maybe they were underpriced.
I've sold a variety of items through ebay in the past 2 years from
camera stuff to VM to just about anything that I thought would sell.
Sometimes I've been disappointed, sometimes downright pleasantly
surprised, sometimes shocked, but it's been fun. The 6 1/2' stuffed
Gumby that went to Australia may have been the strangest ($143), but
there have been a few that were odd. Just remember; it only takes 2
people to make an auction bid, and ebay is only a snapshot of the market
on any given day. BTW, did you know that some people collect old
prophylactic tins? Don't know why, but they do:-) The collectable market
can be very odd. Jay K.
