And while we're at it - there are some very good 2D photographs out there.
Maybe we should start including 2D photos in the stereo exhibitions...

[Spoiler: only read this if you didn't understand the joke. While 3D
slides are perceived as by far the mainstream of stereo photography,
and and 3D cards still struggling for recognition, it hardly seems to
be a high priority to make sure that slides are represented at *every*
exhibition - in fact, having a small number of card-only events might
even improve exposure for 3D cards. Similarly, almost all photo exhibitions
are overwhelmingly 2D, and having a few exhibitions that are exclusively
for 3D helps with the visibility and promotion of 3D photography, with
negligible discernible harm to the much larger field of 2D photography.
An effort to make sure that *all* stereo exhibitions are also open to 2D
photography would probably be counterproductive to the field of 3D
photography.]
