P3D Multiple-image stereograms (?)

Hi folks. I just subscribed a few days ago. Not familiar with a lot
of the terminology, so the subject is a guess at what I think could be
the term for a certain type of stereo image - one in which there is
not just a pair of images but a whole string of them, which when
viewed parallel- or cross-eyed give the effect of depth, and which
allow the viewer to see much wider images than a pair on their own.
As an illustration of what I mean, see:

I don't have the software or the skill to produce anything impressive,
but I'd love to know if there are any examples of this sort of image
on web pages devoted to stereograms. It should be possible (with the
right software) to stitch together photographic images to make a
landscape, or to make rendered computer-generated images of 3D
objects, repeated across the picture and each from a slightly
different viewpoint. I had a look at some of the sites in the
Stereoscopic 3D Web Ring, but so far haven't seen this type of
picture.
Thanks for any pointers :-)
