I have the Phillips 3610 (rewritable) CD Writer with the same Adaptec
software. Works fine with my (now slow, but still decent) K6-2/300Mhz
processor (about same speed as Pentium-II/300Mhz). My CD Writer
is now obsolete, but it took a full six months for it to become
so, which is pretty long by today's standards!
I think Dr. T's story reinforces what I frequently preach: backup! backup!
backup! Doing so has saved my *** more than once! :-)
My wife's system (4 machines at the moment) that I set up in her dental
office automatically backs up every night (and runs on UPS's too :-).

P.S. - Writing this is, as much as anything, something to "test" my new
email setup. I've been changed from a Sun/Unix based email system
to one based on Microsoft Exchange. :-( Hope this makes it "out".
