P3D Types of mounts

OK here's one I want to toss out for discussion; I have been using heat-seal
mounts for my Realist format slides. While these are OK for general purpose
use I have decided that I want better control over alignment and window
adjustment. While I can get all this from an RBT mount the price is about .60
per mount. Albion mounts with cardboard foldovers are about half that. What
are your thoughts? Does the ease and convenience of the RBT outweigh the cost
disadvantage? Or are aluminum mounts clearly superior despite the fact they
are a little more labor intensive? I await your thoughts.
