Oh Yeah!!!
Well, I never built a computer. However, I did buy a TRS 80 and
actually managed to get a DATE with it! Yes, that's right, a DATE, with
a beautiful young lady! I had written a program to calculate bowling
scores for our summer bowling league. I then told our league secretary
about it and invited her over after our league night's play. We drank
wine, ate cheese and entered bowling scores. It was GREAT!
Unfortunately, the only mass storage I had for the program was a tape
recorder and the tape became corrupted :-( Still, it was fun,
impressive and totally unrelated to 3D photography. I only wish I knew
something of 3D photography back then as I was working at an amusement
park at the time and would have had a LOT of 3D photo opportunities.
Maybe with some of Boris' guidance.... :-)
Still, the system was not a total loss after that. I left it home and
my dad started programming games from a Byte "Book of Basic Games" that
I had purchased. It brought dad into the computer age and made him more
valuable at work. Now, after two years of retirement, they still call
him back to work on the database programs he developed in DB3. Seems
nobody can quite understand what he did or translate into access or some
other DB.
