Actually I mentioned this to Tom off-list also. Strictly
speaking this is incorrect terminology. It's fine to use
these terms loosely if person A and B know the context they
are used in, but when decribing these concepts to someone not
well versed in these terms/concepts, it leads to wrong
conclusions. Of course the same problem exists in the other
dimension (3-D that is!). ;-)
