P3D Stenographic slide projector wanted

Folks,

I'm a newcomer to the list. My dear departed dad was a Stereographic photo
nut. I am in possession of 1000's of stereo slides that represent of virtual
archive of births, baptisms, communions, confirmations, weddings, births,
deaths, holidays, reunions, family life in general and the construction of
industrial boilers which he designed and oversaw construction of. The slides
are standard 35mm. Alas, when his estate was settled the projector and the
hand held viewer (both Kodak units as I recall) which we once used to view
the slides was nowhere to be found. My siblings and cousins, nephews nieces
etc are in the process of planning a family reunion in 2000...some of us
haven't seen each other in 30 years. A presentation of these slides would
make a tremendous addition to the festivities. I have been unsuccessful in
locating a projector in the N. Calif. S.F. area in which I live. I located
this list in a Net search for such a unit. Anyone out there have any
suggestions where I can obtain such a projector. I've checked with 3-D
Concepts but the $1250.00 price for the unit they offer is a bit high. Not
that I won't pay it if no other option is available but I just thought I'd
check with this list before I made a hasty decision. Even a 40 year old unit
such as the one we had originally would be fine with me if it was
serviceable. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your
