P3D S1 list - a word from the "owner"

Dear Friends,

I admit that I made a few mistakes... No, starting the RBT-S1 list is
not one of them. Announcing it in photo-3d was the mistake. I tried
to get RBT S1 owners via photo-3d to join the list. I should have
obtained this information by other means.

The bottom line is that it is not photo-3d's business what owners of
RBT S1 cameras want to do. And by making it public I invited every
Tom, Dick and Larry to criticize the decision and make suggestions on
how to "correct" it.

The second mistake was that I invited the people who already signed
up in the RBT S1 to discuss if we should *change* the character of
the list. That was a big mistake because who is going to decide?

Now it is time to correct these mistakes. I have therefore decided
and will proceed with the following:

1) As long as I own an RBT S1 camera there will be an RBT S1 exclusive
list composed primarily of RBT S1 camera owners. I will be a member
of this list, even if I am the *only* member. (I am known to talk
to myself occasionally.)

2) The location and activities of this list will remain a secret,
to be shared only among S1 owners and never to be discussed in
photo-3d. Eventually, a web page will be put up summarizing the
most helpful tips resulting of these discussions, something like
the "RBT S1 owners" web page, but membership to this list will be
"by personal invitation" mainly.

(BTW, there is another secret list like this... No one has a problem
with this list because no one knows about it.)

Greetings from the "Dictator of 3D" -- George Themelis

PS. I cringe when people call this "my" list as I did when they
called the Ohio Stereo Photographic Society "my" club.
But there are times when someone needs to decide. Getting
too many people involved and trying to be "very democratic",
    occasionally leads to confusion.
