P3D RBT X3A lens spacing

I am going to try an experiment and post this to both the photo-3d
and RBT.X3 lists and see which generates more responses.

I own an RBT X3A which has 65mm inter-lens spacing. As I
understand most RBT owners opt for the 75mm inter-lens spacing.
In fact I may be the only X3A owner in the US. Is this correct or does
someone else out there own one? Jon - no fair you answering, I
want to hear from the owners *{;-)

I would like to know why you chose the A option. Is it because of the
lens spacing, or is it beacuse of the film chip size which allows 20
pairs and no film waste?

My reasoning was actually both. With the 65mm lens spacing I am
able to get more of an "ortho" view than the slightly hyper 75mm
spacing. I can get two more pairs from every roll of film. I mount in
standard 7p mounts which are the largest universally accepted
format. Yes I know that the full frame B models can be masked
down, but if you are going to do that why waste the extra film? And
probably the most important reason was the ability to get a much
closer focus. I have been able to get as close as 24 inches and still
be able to mount in 7p. With the zoom set at 70mm this is a rather
small frame area. It was a set-up like this that produced my first
award winning stereo slide.

Those are my opinions, what are yours?

That's all for now,
