P3D Panoptic Vision stereo panoramas

Hello 3D group;

Yes, the site www.panopticvision.com, which was mentioned in a few recent
posts, is mine. I caught wind of the posts and just signed onto this list
so I can participate. Yes, the site is very sketchy; sorry that it caused
frustration to some. The "Live Picture" plugin can be gotten from
www.livepicture.com/download. It is for viewing interactive panoramas and
zoomable still pictures.

The panoramic anaglyph shown on the site was made with a prototype
scanning-type digital panoramic camera. The stereo-pair panorama was shot
in two passes: one with the rotating head shifted laterally to take on a
right-eye view, the other shifted over for the left-eye view. I made the
anaglyph by taking the red channel from the left-eye view and the blue
channel from the right-eye view. This is, I suppose, a nonstandard way to
make an anaglyph. I thought it might give more color information to the
viewer.

I'll let you all know when the site is fixed up with some more content and
easier viewing of panoramas.
