Greg has already answered your technical questions (and is why I sit near
the front at CSC club meetings) about the ortho seat.

However, another alternative to solve your problem (same one I've had
for home projection shows)  is to get someone else to do the projecting.
Anyone in your household really hate those dumb slides and hates to 
watch them?  That'd be a great candidate for projectionist!

Or at least have someone else do it once in a while.  :-)
