P3D Cleaning glass slides

I put this question on the tech-3d page but did not get  any responses. 
I just obtained a group of stereo glass slides (10.5x 4.4mm). They are of the
construction of the Panama Canal and are in rough shape. Is there anyway to
clean the surface dirt from the emulsion side?
question 2. Can anyone help me with  a copy of the instruction book for a
Graflex "Stereo Graphic" (reply off  photo-3d for this. mailto:Syhar@xxxxxxx.
