A relative of mine recently had laser surgery of some sort on his eyes, now
can go without glasses for the first time in his life.  

In discussing some of the details (he's a physician) he mentioned that a
common practice is to adjust each eye at a different distance, to
effectively cover the whole field.  I thought of the "Depth Master" system.
