If we had sorting boxes, cutters, mounting kits and a manufacture of the
original metal masks offered by David White, ALL other mounts currently
made would stop selling. The idea that the Realist format mount is some
sort of a barrier to Stereo is a questionable statement.
The combo of a Stereo Realist and the materials once offered by the David
White company, made it possible for anyone (even non-list members, imagine
that) to take great stereo photographs and mount them with perfect results
and without any fuss, bother or problems.
The old system was the entry to this, and in NO WAY any sort of a barrier.
I use the RBT Mounts and they are nice. But i can do it the old way, much
faster.
Last night, I watched the Sci-Fi Channel and mounted the last batch of 6
rolls of Kodachrome film. At noon, I reverse rolled the rolls of film. All
in all, took about 3 hours, but it was fast to do and great results. For
the Technical, I used mostly Distant masks, a partial box of Medium and
only one close-up mask for a close-up of an engine.
Tomorrow I will bind some in glass.
