P3D Dual lighted 2x2 viewers?

Sawyers makes (or made?) a lighted slide viewer that looks like a long
rectangular box.  You put the slide in the middle and look in the front.

Has anyone ever considered (or tried) using a pair of these for viewing 2x2
pairs?  Are they too wide to get comfortably close together?
