P3D Differential Focus

To determine the quality of an image or the quality of sound, ( without
measuring instruments) I believe an immediate A-B reference comparison
is necessary, unless we are comparing two opposite extremes of quality.
For example, I have listened to audio mixes that sounded great ( or
speakers) until I heard an improved mix minutes later. The level of
quality is ranked according to available and immediate comparisons. This
is why Bose speakers are not displayed with other mfgrs speakers...they
sound pretty awful next to a good speaker. Until this point of reference
is compared, Bose speakers actually sound good........kinda. :-)
I have seen Nimslo images and Realist images that look great. It was not
until I saw an image from a finely tuned Realist that I realized mine
was not as sharp. A trip to Zak's bench made all the difference in the
world! I feel the same way about Dr. T's S1. When you see an image from
an S1....you will realize that the Realist is no match. I'm not talking
about 1 image, but 1 roll of film through each camera....consistently
superior. Differential focus cameras have their place...but unless
compared to many others, will be the " Bose" of stereo cameras.
