OK, the math has been fixed now, but isn't this format (4.5" x 2") very
close to the Franka slip in twin 35 mount? That mount separates the
slides by 1/2" and is overall 112mm x 52mm (4.44" x 2.1").

I use these for quick and easy mounting of twin 35 slides that don't
need vertical alignment corrections.

I think that the Franka standard is perfect for viewing and projection
of single 2x2 stereo slides, except that the actual Franka mount is
probably not up to resisting the environment of a projector. A material
change would be in order here.

Maybe what would be a benefit for the quick and easy twin 35 crowd is to
redesign the Franka standard mount a little to allow for vertical
alignment correction, and to reduce the window size a bit for setting a
proper window. The film could be processed as standard slide film,
mounted by the lab in standard mounts, and then easily handled at home
to slip in and align with the mounting frame. The mounting frame would
be made to withstand the projection environment.

This wouldn't be the perfect solution for twin 35, but would allow the
hobbiest to skip the cutting and gluing phases of stereo mounting. This
seems to be important to some people.

For the cut and glue people, a typical cardboard stereomount could be
offered.

There used to be a cardboard standard mount like this sold by Reel-3d,
but no more. What was that standard based upon?

But looking at this subject more generally.... The RBT full frame mount
accomplishes most of this anyway, doesn't it?
