Do you have trouble with live stage plays where "3-D" is permanently
turned on?  I don't mean that in a bad way.... what I mean is that
perhaps it isn't the 3-D'ness per se, but perhaps you are concentrating
on looking for 3D effects, then when you find it, your mind is focused
on having "found one" so much that you don't pay attention to other things.

I think if 3D effects were done "natural" and constantly it'd be "old
hat" soon, and just seen as an enhancement like color is/was.  Mostly
noticed when it's gone.  Kinda like real life. 

Of course, in real (3D) life, I still don't recall what announcers or
anybody else said, so I may be all wet on this theory.  :-)
