Recently there has been a bit of discussion regarding what a stereoscopic film should and should not be, to which my reply would be, 'Stereoscopic.'
I remind everyone that there are as many opinions as there are tastes, and to dictate what a film should be is to limit the possibilities for others to find something enjoyable about our favorite medium. Don't like 'in your face' action? Don't see the movie, but then don't complain that there aren't masses of people flocking to see a filmed stageplay. Don't dictate standards & practices unless you want to choke the life from a viable medium.
So long as the stereoscopic effect is done properly, let there be as many types of 3-D cinema as there are flat. After all, aren't we here only about stereoscopy?
