P3D Kingslake's "Optics in Photography" - IV

Chapter 9 is about Enlarging and Projection Systems. The chapter on
Projection helped me finally understand the function of the condenser
(project the image of the lamp filament into the lens) and the role of
the mirrors behind the lamps of the TDC projectors. Now I am ready to
take another look into my 116 and teak it for best performance!

Chapter 10 is titled "Stereoscopic Photography". A good overview of
the field, even though many of us already know a lot more in our topic
of interest.

Chapter 11 discusses "Shutters and Flash", while chapter 12 is about
"Camera Viewfinders and Rangefinders".

Overall, this books is an excellent reference in the many aspects of
photography for the technically minded or for those who would like to
know "how things work". After reading the book, I put is aside for
future reference and I am sure I will be coming back in the near future.

As I mentioned in the beginning, I liked the book so much that I obtained
a number of copies for resale. You can buy the book directly from the
publisher (SPIE, The International Society for Optical Engineering,
PO Box 10, Bellingham WA 98227) or get it from me for the same price.
Please see my posting in sell-3d or email me directly for details.
