P3D Ektachrome and Costco

I just went down to my local Price/Costco (US nationwide discount 
warehouse) to buy some more film (EliteChrome 100 ASA 36 exp 
in the five pack for $17.99). Much to my surprise I found they were 
out. I asked at the customer service counter and they said it had 
been deleted from their inventory. I then called the national 
headquarters and found out that ALL stores have deleted the 
product and there are no plans to restock it. All my local stores want 
anywhere from $8.00 to $10.00 per roll. Much more than I am willing 
to pay.

B&H (big New York company) sells the film for either $3.49 for 
import or $5.49 for US.

My question is: is there difference between the European import 
stock and the US stock?
