I've improvised in the past in this kind of situation (where
adjustability to get the initial setting is needed but the
setting is fixed after that).
I used two sheets of particle board about 12 - 15" square
mounted parallel to each other and mounted/separated
using threaded rod (hardware store) and nuts in the corners.
The top sheet has a hole in it to poke the lens through and
a small right angle bracket to attach the camera via its
tripod screw. This was actually a very stable, solid setup
which was rapidly repeatable even after removing the camera
for other used. You can mark the base with guide lines to
show where to place the stereocards for each frame.
