P3D Oops...a Hot review?

In my OSPS meeting reviews I write " behind the scenes" commentary and
report the light-hearted humorous events that occur....and often Dr.T is
the victim of my reviews since he plays a large role in every meeting.
:-) I feel that perhaps he did not find my current review very funny?
:-) A few clarifying comments:
The PSA slides were great! The audio tape was not so good. The bell tone
pace of the program was random and fast and seemed to lack the
continuity to allow the program to flow. Dr T did the best he could, and
did a good job keeping pace without prior practice. Actually, I could
have wrote that he performed like a circus juggler dropping one pin and
catching it on the bounce to complete the program......but I elected to
pick on the Cleveland Browns and equate the performance to a Browns
runningback........sorry George! I was only kidding!:-)
The audio tape was not recorded with enough gain. The signal levels were
too low, raising the signal to noise ratio ( noise floor ) to
unacceptable levels. Increasing the volume also increased the tape hiss,
but some of the hiss was reduced with a 4 band equalizer. The receiver
had to be pushed to full volume which can be dangerous to all connected
equipment. ( power cord, deck, speakers etc.)
Also, one speaker was used and not 2, which puts the receiver in harms
way. A receiver with more power may have compensated for the poor tape
quality, increased the playback volume ( which was too low) and operated
at a safer level. Audio distortions would also be minimized with more
power. Using one speaker on a receiver can be dangerous. I have 8 ohm
resistors that can be connected to open channels to protect the
receiver. I did not have time to discuss the many changes necessary, T
did not have time as he prepared the program.
I have live PA gear, processing equipment etc and can provide some
assistance in the future.
