P3D Good News! (was Sad news)

A week ago I posted about the tragic Easter morning fire near Atlanta that
destroyed my brother Dan's apartment complex with all his belongings,
including his stereo camera, viewer and all of his slides.
Particularly saddening to both of us was the loss of his cat Rebel, who had
been left alone, locked in the apartment.
Reports of Rebel's death were a bit premature, apparently.
Somehow during the fire he managed to get through the window screen and
down a three-story drop, (through the flames of the second-floor apartment,
where the fire had started) and hid out in nearby woods till the commotion
died down. Some people in the neighborhood found him cowering in their
bushes a day later, took him in and fed him and eventually got in touch
with Dan this morning.
Rebel has four blistered paws, some much shorter fur and whiskers and an
appointment with the local vet. For all that, he's reasonably healthy, no
cuts, breaks or serious burns. I heard him over the phone, meowing up a
storm, so his vocal cords are ok, too.
Guess he has eight left.
To give this some justification for being on Photo-3D: I'll be projecting
a few stereo slides of Rebel (pre-fire) at Wednesday's GVSG meeting.
Best regards,
Bill Davis
