In digest 3305, Wlad Reksc writes, in part:

<< I install it on left camera, with both of them set to 1/60
(although a flash setting is 1/100). I don't know if it helps, but I hope it
gives more time for both cameras get the shutters open for the flash. On
about 30 pictures I took with a flash, 3 got a small dark stripe on the
bottom of the right image. Any suggestions how to fix that?

The narrow black stripe may be a classic symptom of improper sync speed with
this type of focal plane shutter (the shutter on the right camera is starting
to close just as the flash is firing). This shouldn't be too surprising as
there are usually very small differences between camera bodies. Even a few
milliseconds difference can do this.

If these were mine, the first thing I'd try would be to drop the speeds down
to 1/30 and see if it goes away. The long term best solution would be to
build a "black box" to fine tune the exact syncronisation between the
cameras. That should let you get the flash speed back up to 1/100 and also
give better results at high speed (non-flash) pictures.
