With all due respect to Mike, "real" camera stores (the kind that would carry
tungsten film and more than 4-5 rolls of slide film) are a dying breed.
The market is being taken over by stores like Ritz Camera, whose
film stock is limited to carded Kodak and Fuji print film, no better than
the local Safeway or Target store.

I recall being forced to patronize the local Ritz Camera store for a
last-minute film purchase for a spur-of-the moment 3D exposition. Of
course, I wanted slide film, and I wanted a particular brand and speed of
slide film (I think it was Ektachrome Elite II 100ASA, not a particularly
rare breed of slide films, certainly not even a "pro" film like E100S).
The saleswoman behind the counter had a hard time finding it among the
20-30 other rolls (not brands) in the rack behind her. I exhausted their
"stock" of 36-exposure at 4 rolls or so, and one of the people manning the
1-hour-photo printer suggested Agfa film, offering the expert advice
"They're all the same." Yah, right.

With the demise of Ewert's (RIP), I still need to find a convenient,
professional photo dealer who doesn't think a "hot shoe slave" is a fetish
you'd find catered to on the Internet.
