P3D Kodak and Ritz

I'm not very familiar with Kodak's commercial products and services, but
the consumer product sales future looks dim. Ritz camera has made major
committments to Fuji. ( Kodak must have angered David Ritz :-)) All
Kodak enlargement machines have been replaced by Fuji Aladdin machines.
Many Kodak film multi-packs are not being reordered. Fuji print
multi-packs ( 4 roll) start at $5.99.......cheaper than a single roll of
Kodak Gold. Ritz literally gives away Fuji film ( in a Ritz box) with
their club memberships and double prints are free. Most loyal Kodak
consumers eventually take the bait and try the Fuji film......and never
return to Kodak. Slide film sales are negligable. Velvia and Sensia
outsell Kodachrome 2 to 1.
Kodak's disposable MAX cameras sell well, but the MAX film does not
sell. I cannot speak for other retailers.....but I have info about Ritz.
2D or 3D......serious or hobbyist.......photographers need to realize
that film processing and printing brings in the revenues! Kodachrome
processing is the only reason Kodak tries to mount stereo slides! Many
stereo photographers support Kodachrome. Every camera retailer makes
their money on processing and finishing, finishing, finishing!!
Cameras merely help expose more film!! Get it?
