I resolved not to get involved in this discussion but inasmuch as I believe this is the format of  the future, I will add my 2 cents. First of all, this format is used almost exclusively in Europe, England excepted.
The absolutely BEST 2 X 2 X 2 viewer that I have seen is one made by the late Stan Baird in Los Angeles. I should state that I have not seen Hugo's in this format. Stan's used Zeiss achromats ( at $80. a pair) and the body was plastic. The bad thing was it had no interocular but did focus. He was selling it for only $100. I was told that there may be a few of these someplace in a warehouse in Los Angeles. If this can be substantiated, maybe we can retreive a few.
