P3D First time posting / Verascope question

Hello,

This is my first posting. Thanks to the listowners
for letting me participate!

I have been shooting stereo since about 1980
when I happened to run into Morgan's
"Stereo Realist Manual" at a local library -- I was
hooked. That chance meeting with the book has
led to a Realist, a Revere 33, and a Sputnik.

Recently, a Verascope F40 has been acquired.

What can anyone on this list tell me about the
various Verascope F40 viewers? I am aware
of 3:
1) Plastic model with focus knob on side
2) Plastic model with focus knob on top
3) Transposing viewer

The #2 viewer I own seems to take a slightly
different slide holder than what is normally
obtained. To explain further, the windows are
lower than what is the Realist standard thus the
view of the top of the slide is just slightly cut off.
It look like the design was to either insert the
slides from the right side or the top. Kind of a
shame, really, as the viewer has some nice
air-spaced achromats.

Is the #1 Verascope viewer compatible with RBT
mounts and does it display properly?

What opinions can anyone suggest for a "European"
format viewer?

Any opinions on the H. de Wijs viewers?

Thanks for time everyone!
