  Perhaps a Nimslo (center two lenses or
first and third lenses) with an appropriate
closeup lens for the distance to the bird.

  A long cable release would let you trip
the camera from a distance (B&H sells 40"
and a 60" ones). Or an air release might
work.

  Advancing the film might be a problem
but perhaps you could rig something up
similar to the flexable Dremel tool
extensions.
