P3D Boris and "Truecolor"

Since we're digressing into the realm of legalities and semantics, I
remember that the correspondent (Boris, wasn't it?) using the name
"Truecolor" was always careful to include a legal "TM" after the term, and
I was curious as to whether he had ever actually run an official trademark
registration request on it? This afternoon I happened to mention the
earlier discussion of the name  to a friend who is an executive at
Paramount Pictures, and he commented, as I had earlier, that "Trucolor" was
a motion picture color system used for years by Republic Pictures through
their association with CFI Laboratory in Hollywood, and since both entities
are still alive and well (alive anyway) he found it, and I quote, "utterly
inconceivable" that a trademark with so similar a name would be issued.
(Just curious, not trying to stir up trouble...)
