I will try to answer some of the comments about the timing of the
Conventions and the Workshops.
When a ci
group plans a Convention for thier city, they need to find a time period
when the Hotel has a slow period in order to obtain a reasonable room
rate. At Green Bay for instance, a week after we leave Green Bay, the
Packers will begin to have people coming to town for the Pre-season
training camp. We would not be able to get a price like we have with a
breakfast and a complimentary cocktail hour.
The Convention was originally a 3 day affair-now it has expanded to
include a bunch of meetings on Thursday with the Stereo Theater
beginning on Friday and the Trade Show on saturday. With the Workshops
becoming more popular, they had to be fitted into the same time frame.
There are several choices-start the Convention on Wednesday so that the
meetings could be held on Wednesday, Workshops on Thursday,Stereo
Theater and Trade show as they are-or-limit the number of Stereo Show
presentations and cut down on the length of the Trade Show.
It is not easy to juggle all that we are trying to do.
