We would be doing beginners a favor to skip the "sunny 16" fairy tale.
Sure it works for old-timers. Old-timers know when it's flat out wrong.
My father could tune a carburetor with a dime. I would not suggest it to a
beginner just because he made it look so easy.
Any beginner can purchase a $20 meter, and point it at his/her hand.
Unlike "sunny 16", it works indoors, when it's overcast, before and after
noon, in the shade, with different speed films. And you don't need to keep
a cheat sheet in your pocket to fudge the exceptions.
Cheers,
Tom
