I think a major problem is that the tripod socket is way over at one end of 
the body.  This makes the cameras very unstable when mounted together on a 
bar.  They want to swing around the tripod socket.  The non-tripod socket end 
of  the camera also tends to rise up when the mounting hardware is tightened.
