The Montreal Gazette newspaper will have an article (this
Saturday, July 3, 1999) on the upcoming 3-D Movie festival
in Montreal. There was a preview notice of the article in
Wednesday's Gazette. Here is what it says.

SATURDAY
ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT
Monsters in your face: a fond look at 3-D films
3-D might be high tech, but it's not new tech.
Entertainment reporter Matt Radz takes a look at
new uses of the Canadian-born technology at
Imax, and at the good old-fashioned thrill movies
featured at 3D99, the film festival at the Imperial
cinema. Admission includes those chessy glasses
you'll need to get up close to, for example, the
Creature From the Black Lagoon. Boo.

For those in the Montreal area, Cinema Imperial
is hosting a 3-D Festival! From July 2 to July 18,
they are holding screenings of,
House of Wax
Creature from The Black Lagoon
Jaws 3
Invasion of Planet Earth
The Fantastic Invasion of Planet Earth (AKA The Bubble)
Cinema Imperial is located at 1430 Bluery (Metro Place-des-Arts)
and their phone no. is (514) 288-7500 ext.233.
There is a full page ad in the Mirror (a local free
weekly newspaper) on page 5, in the June 24 (vol.5, no.4)
issue. The ad mentions it's, "The original 3-D experience."
It seems to be going head to head with the Imax, "This
is NOT your parent's 3-D!" ad!
P.S. Many thanks to Lawrence Kaufman who told me about
the 3-D Festival awhile back! :-)
Gabriel
