Hi Michael and welcome to photo-3d!
Paul's answer and advice is correct. Use the Realist DOF and
HF Tables for your Kodak.
In addition, let me add that I have now solved this "mystery":
>In fact, we've established that there is more than one version

>optimistic than the other. So somewhere along the way the
>meaning of "acceptable focus" changed.
That's indeed what happened. In earliest realists a circle of
confusion of 1/1000 in. was used. Later, this was changed with
to 1/750 in. The larger circle of confusion (1/750 in.) is less
conservative or more optimistic... will show wider DOF. IMO,
1/750 in. is a fine number and this is what is traditionally
quoted for 35mm film (in metric 0.3 or 0.33 mm). This change is
mentioned in the "Realist News", a newsletter that David White Co.
produced on and off from 1951 and on.
BTW, I have now finished the Realist book and I am waiting for
the first copies to come out. I will bring 50 copies in Green
Bay (now, that's optimism!!! :-)) I will also post in sell-3d
details for ordering, or contact me by email. I will be able to
ship these by mail when I come back from Green Bay.
Regards to all,
George Themelis
