That 'preference' for 'accentuated' depth may have to do with the
'flattening' effect produced by lenses that typically gaze out in
parallel (as opposed to human vision that allows convergence). For
someone like myself shooting architecture, the problem is more an issue
of size and distance distortions than accentuation of depth. That is, if
one sets out to reproduce the true size of a building and the viewer's
distance from it. The question, then, is: can the accentuated depth of
the 'non-ortho' taking lens be offset, say, by using a slightly reduced
interocular? (Maybe this is a question for John B. and tech-3D.)
