Another unforgettable convention is over... I think I speak for all of us
when I say that we had a wonderful time... The hotel deal was unbelievable
this year! I shared a room with Paul Talbot and Michael Chikiris and for
3 nights my share came to $85! This price includes a free breakfast and
free cocktails in the afternoon! Cannot beat that! The hotel had
balconies so you could watch the action from any floor. Very nice &
friendly arrangement.

The projection room was large and well set-up. The shows were excellent
this year. Gary Shaker and Larry Haines did an excellent job as first time
presenters. Robert Bloomberg and others (too many to mention without
forgetting anyone - I do not have the schedule with me) did their usual
great job to entertain us this year too. I enjoyed Mr. Hugo DeWijs'
presentation "3D for a Living"... We got to see a slice of the life from
someone who makes a living from stereo photography in the Netherlands.

Something new for me were the workshops. Bill Moll had everything well
arranged. I received good feedback and I think this is something we should
continue and put more effort into it.

The trade show room was in a large, cool room. Everything worked fine and,
again this year, I did very well selling most of my inventory... I was
pleased that people whose opinion I respect, had good things to say about
my Realist book! All 35 copies sold quickly... but, don't worry, I have
165 left here at home!!!

Saturday night awards dinner, Sunday morning breakfast and the many social
activities are always among my favorites. This year I got to meet quite a
few people for the first time and good old friends.... I will not mention
any names... except I have to say that I was pleased and impressed by Bruce
Springsteen. What a great guy!

My sincere thanks to Convention Chairman Harry Richards, and all the
volunteers who worked hard to make this year's NSA convention a great
success!

Looking forward to Mesa AZ, NSA 2000!!!

George Themelis
