Hello people!

Just got back on-line. Missed most commentary so far, due to postpone
mode set before the convention, so I'm sorry if I fail to acknowledge any
comments from the last two days - I didn't see'm.

High points:

APEC meeting. So these are the guys who make those piles of cards. They
don't look crazy after all. And I finally met my Cedar Rapids, Iowa
print-brothers: Ernie Rairdin and RJ Thorpe. I knew I'd take a shine to
'em.

The travelling phantogram. Now you see it, now you don't. But
everybody's talking about it. And reverse-rolling with Boris after my
bed-time.

Shaking the hand of Themelis while standing in line for eggs. Not how I
envisioned our first encounter!

Looking at David Klutho's sports stereos with Earl Keyser's Saturnscope
for as long as I wanted in my room - coordinator's prerogative, you know.

Getting "called on" in David Lee's workshops. Aw shucks, folks.

The Lynn Butler Vectographs. I can't define art, but I know it when I see
it.

Howard Wade at the mexican restaurant. Howard Wade at the show & tell
with cats through the window and hot air balloons set to lazy music.
Howard Wade appearing from heaven (while Gail and I were frantically
trying to get up the viewcard exhibit) and saying the most beautiful words
in the language: "Can I help?" And he did.

Sunday dinner with the Sinclairs and the Treadwells (Tex and Jo) and yes,
Howard Wade. Singing Marx Brothers songs that drove the waiter into
hiding.

Rum and Coke on the 17th floor amid gorgeous lenticulars.

Friday night with the best card judges I would ever hope to know: Walsh,
Levy, Starosta, and Swarthout. You will not find better men anywhere.
Four hours I'll not forget.

Leaping the language barrier with Walter and Honey Dubronner. They came
so far and love 3D so much.

Motoring to Milwaukee with Paul Talbot, after passing by each other
through the whole convention.

Biggest disappointments:

I spend a month growing this stupid pony tail and they cancel the Bill
Davis Look-Alike Contest.

Deering stuck in traffic.

No Gabriel!

More when the library is open again,
Bruce (Friday night's a blur) Springsteen
