P3D Fiso Stereographs lenticulars

When I returned from Green Bay I found a sample lenticular
print (roughly 4" size) from Jason Shen waiting in my mail.
I had previously seen two large barrier print samples that
Jason circulated for Fiso. I must say I was astonished at
the quality of this sample lenticular print. I immediately
wrote to Jason to ask what equipment took the photo, and
how many lenses did the camera have? (I had seen 5-lens
and "over 15" lens images in barrier print form, and there
was an enormous difference in the quality of those lents.)
Imagine my shock when Jason replied:
The sample was shot by the 3 lens of the 3 D Wizard
camera made by Image Tech. Actually our lenticular
technology came from Image Tech in early 1990 but I
think we innovated and improved some procedures. The
image is not good as a "still life" because it was
only 3 images interlaced.
There is of course noticeable flicker in the distant part
of the scene, but I cannot get over how good this print
looks for a simple 3 image lent. There is no noticeable
cardboarding, surprisingly slight layering of the depth
effect, and the image is very sharp, not fuzzy and fake
looking like most lenticulars I've seen (though there is
some soft focus of the distant background).
Who else has seen one of these sample lents? What
did you think of it? I'm still expecting to wake
up from this dream, or to find out there was a
misunderstanding, and the image was really shot
with something like a 64-lens monster of a camera! ;-)
